The 900th Anniversary of All Saints, Mountfield

All Saints Church, MountfieldOur beautiful and unique church, All Saints, will celebrate its 900th anniversary in 2020.  Below is a list of celebratory events and is a programme designed to include as much of the Village and wider community as possible.  Please put these dates in your diary and come to as many as you would like.

Saturday 11.04.20 - 7pmCelebrations begin with an Easter Vigil at the Church, led by Bishop Laurie Green

Sunday 07.06.20 - 10amA special church service for pets
Saturday 27.06.20 - 2pmVillage cricket match and picnic during the afternoon, followed by Songs of Praise at 6pm in the Church, led by Archdeacon Edward Dowler
Saturday 04.07.20 - 7.30pmThe Wealden Consort Choir performing "Music Across the Ages" in the Church
Saturday 05.09.20Village Day - an exhibition in the Church, an Open Day at the Walled Garden, Mountfield Court and a Community Gathering in the Village Hall
10am a 5-hour ramble through the parishes of Mountfield, Brightling and Netherfield
Sunday 13.09.20 Mountfield Ride and Walk
Sunday 04.10.20The Primrose Quartet Concert in the Church - part of Battle Festival
Thursday 15.10.20An evening of storytelling about the history of Mountfield, in the Church
Sunday 01.11.20All Saints Day service, marking the official 900th birthay of the Church, led by Bishop Martin of Chichester

Village Hall Quiz

A very special part of Village Day will be an exhibition of photographs and memorabilia covering the history of All Saints and the village of Mountfield.  It will include church photographs of weddings, christenings, funerals, vicars of the past and village activities.  Posters and flyers, drawings of the church, paintings and the Tithe Map circa 1830.
