I have some more information.
: This is temporary, the sheep will be moved in a few days, probably by the end of the week.
: The electric fence is signed as such.
: The sheep are fine for water as it is being brought in.

Thank you for the update on the sheep. However, there was no signage put up to say there is an electric fence. The sheep at the weekend were just moved back into the field by New Cut where they were originally? The electric fence remains. The sheep were given a hay bale about two weeks ago. The first time ever! This has now been consumed by the hungry sheep and no replacement has been made. There have always been about 20 sheep kept at anyone time in that field. Now there is approximately 100. They keep coming down towards the gate and trying to eat from a hay container where there is no hay for them. I don’t know how one hay bale would suffice 100 sheep! The water troughs are covered in brambles and never cleared. Some of the sheep are limping. The sheep are not looked after adequately enough. The Mountfield Estate have an ethic responsibility to make sure animals kept on their estate are looked after. At the end of last year they were being held inside the fenced Vineyard with no water or food and it was the time it snowed. The Parish Council need to take appropriate action. It is really not good enough that these people are allowed to keep sheep in this way and everyone turns a blind eye. It’s shocking to see this happening on our doorstep.
In reply to the above comment, please note that the Parish Council cannot action any concerns residents may have about the sheep, all they can do is to contact the Mountfield Estate.
However, I now have a phone number that residents can use to contact directly for any concerns relevant to the livestock on the Mountfield Court Estate.
