DRAFT MINUTES OF THE MOUNTFIELD PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 14th OCTOBER 2025

1. Disclosures of interests
Councillor Whines declared a personal interest in item 6.1 (donation to Mountfield Village Hall Committee) as he is a member.
2. Dispensations
The Clerk, as Proper Officer, granted a dispensation to Councillor Whines so he can vote on item 6.1. This was done to enable to resolution to be quorate.
3. Apologies for absence
Councillors Hardy and O’Sullivan sent apologies.
4. Open Forum
The details of item 5 (Rother District Council Community Grants Fund) were discussed with the two members of the public from Mountfield Cricket Club.
5. Rother District Council Community Grants Fund
The details of the application to the Rother Community Grants Fund were discussed fully. This is for a new cesspit and refurbishment of the toilet block, particularly to make it accessible for all. The quotation accepted was that from H&T Building Services.
RESOLVED: MPC and the KGF Trust will both provide the sum of £2,125 making a total of £4,250. The amount requested from the RCGF will be £4,250. The total cost of the works will be £8,500 (net of VAT).
The Chair proposed and Councillor Whines seconded, the voting was unanimous. (CLERK)
6. Grants and Donations
6.1 RESOLVED: to grant the requested donation from Mountfield Village Hall Committee for £1,000 towards the Mountfield Bonfire Event and the Children’s Christmas Party.
The Chair proposed and Councillor Giles seconded, the voting was unanimous.
6.2 RESOLVED: to grant the sum of £400 to Mountfield Football Club for refurbishment of their pavilion. Councillor Whines proposed and the Chair seconded, the voting was unanimous.
