Food Waste Collection starting March 2026

Good morning

Inline with Central Government legislation and the Environment Act, Local Authorities across England, we will be introducing a phased weekly household food waste collection service from March 2026.

Over the next couple of months all households across the East Sussex Waste Partnership area (Wealden, Hastings, and Rother) will receive a 5-litre internal food waste caddy, a roll of compostable liners, a service guide(copy attached) and a 23-litre external food waste container.

Those properties which are communal properties , i.e. flats etc will receive the above, with the exception of the 23-litre outdoor container , they  will have a 140-litre communal lockable food waste bin.

Royal Mail across the three partnership areas have been delivering a coming soon leaflet / flyer notifying residents of the new weekly household food waste collection service (copy attached).

During March, the Partnership Authorities will write to each household informing them of their start date / date of their weekly food waste collections..

There will be no changes to any of the other waste collection services currently provided across the Partnership Area.

Should you require copies of any leaflets / service guides for your noticeboards , please contact me via email and we will arrange for them to forwarded to you.

If you require any further information regarding the new service, please email me. We  can  arrange to discuss via a teams call.

Any issues related to street cleansing and the general waste collection services need to be addressed to your local waste teams / officers.

Regards

New defibrillator for Mountfield

Very pleased to let you know that we have now installed a defibrillator to benefit the Mountfield residents living south of the level crossing.
The defibrillator is situated in Eatenden Lane, on the left hand side coming down from Netherfield, just before the Mine Road – you can’t miss it in its bright yellow box.
Many thanks to Matt Tidmarsh (H&T Building Services) for the post, backboard and installation.
This defibrillator is now registered on The Circuit, the national UK database for all emergency services.
