Due to the current situation with COVID-19 (Corona Virus), Mountfield Heath School cannot host the Mountfield Parish Assembly this year. We completely understand their reasons – they have vulnerable children there and school closures may be imminent. Hopefully they can host the Assembly in 2021.
The Mountfield Parish Assembly will now be held on 14.04.20 in Mountfield Village Hall.
I and other Rother Clerks are waiting for information from Rother District Council (due next Monday) on parish council matters affected by the Corona Virus.
This website will become the conduit for local information on the virus, please encourage people to sign up for email alerts/pass the information on if you can.

Solomon’s Lane will be closed from its junction with the U6623 (Hoath Hill) to its junction with the A2100 from 31.03.20 to 02.04.20, for ESCC Highways to carry out patching and kerbing works.
The ESCC Transport Hub has arranged for the 384 school bus to drive through the works. Battle Area Community Transport services that would normally run via Solomon’s Lane will have to divert.

Apologies – MPC Agenda for 10.03.20
Apologies to one and all – item 7 on the agenda should, of course, read Mountfield PCC not Dallington PCC. Either yet another senior moment or the rotten cold I’ve had on and off since last November. A corrected agenda is linked below.

Just had email from Highways England, they will be carrying out survey works to ascertain the current ground condition of the highway.
In order to carry out these works as efficiently and safely as possible, work will be undertaken using temporary traffic signals for a single lane closure on both the north and southbound A21. The dates are from 16.03.20 to 20.03.20 from 9.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday only.
In addition, there will be two nights of lane closures – A21 north and southbound from John’s Cross to Stream Lane. The dates are 06.04.20 and 07.04.20 from 8.00pm to 6.00am.

A2100 repairs update 1
I have just heard that the repairs/resurfacing to the A2100 (John’s Cross to level crossing) will now not take place until Summer 2020, due to road space issues.
Many thanks to all who emailed me with their comments, regarding storm water/heavy rain etc., and the actions that should take place to contain this. I’ve passed your comments (with redacted personal details) to ESCC Highways.
Our Village Sign is up again!
I’ve just heard that our beautiful village sign is up again – thank you Southern Water.
We’ve had it refurbished and I’m sure it looks wonderful.
I’ll try and get by tomorrow and take a photo.
