As you probably know Mountfield PC are gradually changing their suffixes to .gov.uk
This is due to pressure from Central Government for all public authorities to use .gov.uk
Godaddy handled all Mountfield PC’s emails, website hosting, security etc. We have had good service from them over the years, but they cannot host .gov domains and emails. They are an American company, probably the biggest hosting company in the world (or one of them) and are not really interested in the .gov issue.
All our emails now have the suffix .gov.uk – and we will change the domain name, website and associated security when the Godaddy subscriptions expire.
The domain name – mountfield.org.uk – will expire on 23.10.27. Until then there will be redirects to .gov.uk for emails if you use the old email suffix of .org.uk
The company handling our emails now is Uniserve (based in Whatlington) and we are very pleased with the level of service and support they are providing. Eventually the new domain name (www.mountfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk) and our website will be transferred to them.
I hope this has cleared up some of the confusion, if you have any questions please contact me at – clerk@mountfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk
