MOUNTFIELD CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR 15.11.25

Twitten closed 10.11.25 to 13.11.25 (1)
The Twitten footpath between Hoath Hill and Solomon’s Lane will be closed from 10.11.25 until 13.11.25. This is for the installation of new play equipment in the playground and the playground will be fenced with Heras safety fencing for the duration.
Notices will be put at either end of the footpath.
I will post again once the playground is open.
The official permission from ESCC Rights of Way is below.

NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council in exercise of their powers under Sections 14(2) and 15(8)(b)(ii) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, hereby introduce the following measure with immediate effect:
The temporary closure of public footpath Mountfield 22 between TQ 7450 2007 (Solomons Lane) and TQ 7428 2012 (Hoath Hill).
The closure is needed to protect public safety during redevelopment of a play area.
This Notice shall cease to be in force 5 days from the date of issue, unless it is continued by a Temporary Order made under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

8.1 The installation of the new equipment by Sovereign Play is due to start 10.11.25 and is estimated to take 3 days.
8.2 The footpath from Hoath Hill, through the playground to Solomon’s Lane (The Twitten) will be closed during this time.
8.3 Permission for this closure has been granted by ESCC Rights of Way. The Clerk will post details on the website and there will be signage at both ends.
9. Highways England/John’s Cross speed limits
Councillor Purdie to brief on the latest situation and whether to go ahead with purchase/renting of a Black Cat speeding device. (COUNCILLOR PURDIE)
10. Southern Water Solar Array

The Clerk has had no reply from RDC regarding Biffa collection such waste.

13. Matters Outstanding
13.1 Defibrillator for Eatenden Lane. There have been problems finding a suitable case for this external defibrillator, these are now resolved and the installation is imminent.
13.2 The Clerk is still obtaining quotations for the refurbishment of the telephone box.
14. Planning
14.1 No planning applications for consideration.
14.2 Any other planning matters for discussion.
15. Enforcement
15.1 No Mountfield items on RDC’s most recent enforcement list.

16. Highways/Rights of Way
The Clerk is still attempting to arrange a meeting with the Highways Steward to discuss the issues with the A2100. This may well have to wait until after Christmas.

Vacancy for a Clerk at Brightling Parish Council
Sam Dugan will shortly be “retiring” from his position as Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) at Brightling Parish Council and they are looking for a replacement.
