Network Rail Works on level crossing

This is a Blockade on local rail from Friday 24th Night to Sunday 2nd.

During this period, Network Rail and a contractor of theirs are looking to complete two pieces of work, working both days and nights to do this.

I’m not sure of the scale of the work out on track however I can imagine this will catch the eye of the local community.

They’re using the local sidings for offload the next two days and all materials will be taken onto the track Friday/Saturday this weekend and then all removed late part of next week/the weekend.

They have promised to clean up after themselves, leave the area as they have found it, and also maintain the right of way for the public walkway throughout.

They’ve also stated that if someone walks into the area, they will stop all movements until clear etc.

Road closures in Mountfield September/October 2025

Kent Lane will be closed from Monday 29th September for about 2 weeks.

They’ll open the road overnight from 6pm to 7am, apart from the nights of Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd October.

Also

BT Openreach who are also closing the road to replace a telegraph pole for 2 days on 1st October. They are asking us to divert and come down the lane from the other direction and this sounds like you may be closing the diversion route. Can you (Southern Water) or reps from the Parish Council double check to ensure that the properties in the middle of the two closures are still going to have access.
