Mountfield’s first Jubilee Cricket Match was held on Sunday 7th August.  A great time was had by all and the weather was glorious.
The Mountfield Village Team won by 1 run with 1 ball remaining on 168 for 7, replying to 167-9 by Mountfield Cricket Club.  The winning run was hit by Tom Tidmarsh.

Water outage Mountfield

I don’t live in Mountfield and have just heard today that many properties have no water.  I’ve contacted South East Water and the outage is due to burst water pipes.
Bottled water is available at the station at Corner Farm Close, Flimwell, Ticehurst TN5 7FE and it is open until 9pm.
South East Water will deliver bottled water to the elderly and vulnerable if water has not been available for two mealtimes.  Their number is 0333 0000001.

The teams will be one from Mountfield Cricket Club and the other eleven made up of Mountfield residents and neighbouring villages. If you would like to play, please contact Tom Tidmarsh on – tomtidmarsh@outlook.com

The emphasis will be on fun, so we do hope you will come along and join us. The Parish Council will be offering wine, beer and soft drinks to all who attend – so bring a picnic with you and enjoy the best of village cricket (20/30 overs) in a beautiful setting.

After the main match, there will be an opportunity for local youngsters to play “short-cricket” with expert coaches on hand to advise. Bats and balls will be provided or bring your own.
