A21 roadworks – Blackbrooks Parapet

Works will be carried out by A-One-+ on behalf of Highways England on the A21 carriageway between Riccards Lane and Marley Lane, to establish ground conditions for a proposed carriageway resurfacing scheme.
To carry out these works as efficiently and safely as possible, works will be carried out under full closures of the A21 between Riccards Lane and Marley Lane between the hours of 8pm to 6am from 01.09.20 to 11.09.20 (Monday to Friday only).
Clearly signed diversions will be in place during all closures, utilising local routes and suitable for all types of vehicles, when full closures of the carriageway are in place.

South Diversion Route

A21 heading south – traffic wishing to travel along the A21 will be diverted at John’s Cross roundabout to follow the A2100 through to Baldslow, where traffic can re-join the A21.

North Diversion Route

A21 traffic wishing to travel north will be directed from Baldslow to follow the A2100, to re-join the A21 at John’s Cross roundabout.

Residents living within the closure between Riccards Lane and Marley Lane – please wait at the hard closure points and you will be escorted to your property.  Residents wishing to leave their property whilst the closure is in place – please call our NCC on 0845 6122 888 who will contact site to send an escort to your property.  Please be advised that there may be a short wait for the escort vehicle.

A21 roadworks – resurfacing

There will be resurfacing roadworks on the A21

  • In both directions from Coopers Corner roundabout to the John’s Cross roundabout on 10.08.20 from 20.00-06.00.
  • In both directions from Northbridge Street roundabout to John’s Cross roundabout 11.08.20 and 12.08.20 from 20.00-06.00.

Emergency vehicles will always be provided with access through the works.  Local traffic can access the A21 up to the individual closure points and residents with access only off the A21 will be escorted through the works.

Diversions

  • Southbound – southbound traffic on the A21 will be diverted off the A21 at the Flimwell crossroads on the the eastbound A268, before joining the A28.  Traffic will then continue on the A28 to re-join the A21 at Baldslow.
  • Northbound – northbound traffic will leave the A21 at Baldslow and join the A28, before joining the westbound A268.  Traffic will then continue on the A268 to re-join the A21 at Flimwell.

MPC Full Council Meeting – 21.07.20

The public are welcome as always, but please note that strict social distancing measures and entrance/exit routes will be in force as per Government guidelines.  The toilets will be be unavailable.

 

A21 Roadworks 25.05.20-27.06.20

We have been advised that Osbourne, on behalf of Highways England, will be carrying out resurfacing to address carriageway defects in the Robertsbridge area.  The works will include the resurfacing of defective areas, new road markings and stud replacement.
In order to carry out these works as efficiently and safely as possible, work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am, utilising both full south and northbound carriageway closures on the A21.  The works will be carried out between Thursday 25.06.20 and Saturday 27.06.20, with Sunday 28.06.20 held as a contingency and are weather dependent.

Local traffic can access the A21 up to the individual closure points and residents with access only off A21 will be escorted through the works.
Please note that the dates are subject to last minute changes due to the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Diversions

Clearly signed and symbolised diversion routes will be in operation during this closure for through traffic and for local traffic.
Through traffic
Southbound – 
southbound traffic on the A21 will be diverted off the A21 at Flimwell Crossroads on the the eastbound A268, before joining the A28.  Traffic will then continue on the A28 to re-join the A21 at Baldslow.
Northbound – northbound traffic will leave the A21 at Baldslow and join the A28, before joining the west bound A268.  Traffic will then continue on the A268 to re-join the A21 at Flimwell.
Local traffic
Southbound
– local traffic heading southbound looking to get to the Vinehall and Whatlington areas, should use the diversion route as stated above and access to residents only will be provided at Baldslow.  Please note that this will only be available for residents with access only off the A21.
Northbound – local traffic heading northbound from Hastings can access the A21 up to the individual closure points and residents with access only off the A21 will be escorted through the works.

Traffic leaving their properties during working hours will be escorted either to the northern or southern end of the closure, depending on which is closest, and will use the main through traffic diversion routes listed above to continue their onward journeys.  Please note that any southbound traffic leaving Robertsbridge will be diverted off the A21 and onto the A2100 and The Ridge, due to other works being carried out on the A21 in the Whatlington area.  A hard closure will be in place on the A21 at the John’s Cross roundabout, Vinehall Street and Marley Lane, with gated access for residents only, there will be no through traffic permitted here.

Residents in the John’s Cross to Whatlington area, who previously received a letter about A21 John’s Cross to Whatlington – please note the changes to access on 25/26/28.06.20.  This will not affect your access at any other point during our ongoing works between John’s Cross and Whatlington.
