The Messenger Magazine Annual Readers’ get-together will start at 7:00 pm on Thursday (7 November 2024) in Brightling Village Hall
ALL readers of the Messenger Magazine are warmly invited.
There will be FREE DRINKS (alcoholic and soft) and nibbles. This is partly a social occasion – an opportunity to have a relaxing chat with neighbours and others in Brightling, Dallington, Mountfield, and Netherfield. It is also our AGM (Annual General Meeting) so there will be some brief formalities (very brief, we promise!) including electing the committee that runs the magazine between parties (sorry, AGMs).
The committee hopes that as many people as possible will come. It’s an opportunity to show your support for the magazine (if you like it) or tell us what’s wrong (if you don’t like it!) – or just a relaxing evening with a glass of wine or something.
See you on Thursday.
We are currently looking for tombola items and cakes! They will be much appreciated.
The annual family friendly bonfire and fireworks event, organised by the Mountfield Village Hall Committee, takes place on Friday 1st November at the Bonfire Field, Solomon’s Lane, Mountfield TN32 5LY.
The gates open at 6.00pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm – the fireworks start at 7.00pm.
Entry is by donation, with any profits supporting the Mountfield Village Hall Children’s Christmas Party.
There will be a barbeque and soft drinks available.
RR/2023/2053/P – 1&2 Old World Cottages, Vinehall Road

Dear Stakeholder
Please find below details of works being carried out on the A21/A25.
We’re fully refurbishing the deck of the Westerham Road overbridge that goes over the A21.
Works include:
Closures
To do this work safely, we’ll use a mix of overnight and full weekend closures from Monday 23 September.
We’ll only be closing:
Westbound Riverhead bridge over the A21 and southbound off slip closures
During westbound closures there will also be a lane closure on the eastbound side for safety.
Eastbound Riverhead bridge over the A21 and northbound off slip closures
During eastbound closures:
Please remember that closures can change at short notice. You can check the latest information on our daily closures page or find live travel information on our Traffic England site. Our travel alerts give details of live incidents on our network.
Diversions
Westbound diversion
Eastbound diversion
Eastbound closures – non-motorway traffic
There will be a non-motorway traffic diversion during the eastbound closures via the B2211 and the A224.
We will return to complete our works in the Central Reservation in 2025.
